Ofcom - Digital Participation
The challenge
Ofcom's task was to create a platform to engage with the members of their large consortium, spanning both public and private sectors, as well as the general public. The Digital Participation consortium's role therefore was to provide access to the national plan, to enable data collection and provide a dedicated members area for members to collaborate towards this goal.
Our approach
Our first job was to give the consortium a distinctive and inclusive brand. Then, with the brand ID successfully created, our next task was to create the platform on which the brand could shine. Our ‘UX’ (user experience) orientated design process addressed both the audience and consortium requirements to create an engaging experience which matched up with the varied members' needs. We also designed a social marketing and targeted outreach campaign to get the right people involved in the consortium’s projects.
The results
Ofcom now has a fantastic brand and platform through which to engage with their target audiences. Beyond this highly important achievement, we have also helped turn unstructured data into useful commercial and community intelligence through the clever use of social media and semantic web technologies.
